Favorite conversation of the week (with a six year old - because those are about the only kind I have some days).
Background - on Friday someone left each student an Easter Egg with candy in their pencil box during lunch recess. They were excited about the surprise and started discussing who had left them. Of course I'd been in the workroom all recess and hadn't seen who had left them. It was decided the Easter Bunny must have left them until one student declared that it had, indeed, been her and her brother that had planned the surprise. All the students very graciously thanked her for such a wonderful treat. I kept my mouth closed but laughed on the inside.
Fast forward to the end of the day
Glory Hog: Miss Sorenson, aren't you going to thank me?
MS: Mmmm... thank you for what exactly?
GH: For leaving the treat for everyone?
MS: Probably not. I know who really left them.
GH: (avoiding eye contact) Oh...
I laughed for a long time. I learned later that she had gone to a few of the teachers apologizing that she hadn't given them an egg as well - that she'd only brought enough for her class. Funny, funny girl.
